OUR Story

WAAPC American School was established to enhance access to high-quality international education in West Africa, helping students compete on a global scale. It emerged from the WAAPC Education Group, which supported students in preparing for international exams and university admissions. Recognizing that many talented students lacked access to a structured educational environment, the founders created WAAPC American School to offer a comprehensive pathway from Early Years through Grade 12, focusing on academic rigor, character development, and global citizenship.

The school promotes critical thinking, leadership skills, and ambitious academic goals through an internationally recognized curriculum. Today, WAAPC American School is dedicated to developing confident, capable, and globally minded students prepared to make positive contributions to their communities.

Where Giants Begin Their Journey

WAS is a Cognia Member School and part of the WAAPC Education Group, preparing West African students for admission to leading global universities through a rigorous American college-preparatory curriculum, with the opportunity to earn a U.S. high school dual diploma through our partnership with Mizzou Academy at the University of Missouri.

Mission

Through strong academic programs, dedicated teachers, and a supportive learning environment, the school prepares students for university success while nurturing leadership, integrity, resilience, and a lifelong passion for learning.

Vision

To become a leading American international school in West Africa that prepares students for global university pathways while developing ethical leaders who contribute positively to society.
